Ride Alongs with our Patrol Division are available to the public as an opportunity for citizens to observe the day-to-day duties of patrol officers. Riders will accompany a West Lake Hills Police Officer in a departmental vehicle while the officer engages in the performance of their duties and responds to calls for service.
A rider must be at least 18 years of age and pass a criminal history and warrant check prior to the Ride Along. A person with a felony or Class A Misdemeanor conviction are not permitted to ride. An individual with a Class B or C Misdemeanor conviction may be rejected at the discretion of a supervisor.
Participants in the Ride Along Program are required to dress appropriately. Any person approved to ride along is required to be suitably dressed in a collared shirt, blouse or jacket, jeans or slacks and closed toe shoes. Sandals, tank tops, skirts, shorts and ripped or torn blue jeans are not permitted. A supervisor may refuse a ride along to anyone not properly dressed.
Please submit your request by filling out the form below. Once your form has been approved, a supervisor will contact you to schedule the Ride Along.
